Capitals coach Spencer Carbery addresses Rangers depth issue
It's been a series that many had predicted would begin, with the Rangers depth overtaking the games and making it extremely difficult for rookie head coach Spencer Carbery of the capitals to match the Rangers.
During his press conference after the 4-3 loss in Game 2, Carbery spoke to how he is trying to match against Peter Laviolette's group.
As mentioned by one reporter, there have been eight separate goal scores within the last two games from the Rangers which has overwhelmed the Capitals. The Rangers are also doing an effective job in neutralizing capitals captain and superstar Alexander Ovechkin as he has only been held to one shot through two games.
With the series now switching to Washington and the Rangers holding a great road record, it'll be difficult to believe that the capitals can turn this around as the Rangers continued to pour things on and pushed the Capitals to the breaking point.
It's safe to say that those stats people have been talking about including goal differential of -37 and the lowest scoring goals for in the NHL playoffs at 220 has become a glaring hole that the Capitals cannot overcome.
