Ovechkin shares he's leaving the NHL after being eliminated by Rangers
Alexander Ovechkin's fate in the NHL has officially been confirmed and he's leaving.
Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin's has just confirmed that he will be ending his career in Russia, at some point when Ovechkin retires from the NHL he wants to return to his hometown team, Dynamo Moskva.
By now everyone in the hockey community knows Ovechkin has been chasing the The Great One' and his legendary NHL record for the most goals scored all-time.
However, Ovechkin is under a contract with the Capitals until the 2026-27 season with a massive $9.5M deal, making that the perfect time for him to leave the NHL.
A former coach of the team that Ovechkin will join once he's done in the NHL, Vladimir Fedosov, shared a statement:
«He said himself that he would finish his career in Dynamo... the white-and-blue fans can definitely sleep easy. If Alexander's health is good, he will be able to play until the age of 45.»
This wouldn't be the first time Ovechkin has played with the Dynamo Moskva, as he played there before joining the NHL, and during the 2012-14 lockout.
It's just a matter of time before Ovechkin returns to his hometown and joins the KHL.
