Ottawa Senators Have Fired Their Coaches

The Ottawa Senators have fired head coach D.J. Smith and assistant coach Davis Payne, replacing them with Jacques Martin as interim head coach and Daniel Alfredsson as an assistant coach.
Ottawa sits 29th overall in the league standings, and last in the Eastern Conference.
Four NHL head coaches have been fired already this season: Jay Woodcroft (EDM), Dean Evason (MIN), Craig Berube (STL) and D.J. Smith (OTT).
