Alex Wennberg ticks off dream after being traded to the Rangers
Many players in the NHL always have teams in mind that they always want to play for whether it's a boyhood dream as they grow up trying to learn the game of hockey or they have an idol that plays for a certain team that they want to emulate.
But it's quite common to hear players saying that it's a dream come true.
Yesterday, the New York Rangers made a deal with the Seattle Kraken and acquiring centerman Alex Wennberg for the second-round draft pick in 2024 and a fourth round draft picked in 2025.
After his practice, Alex Wennberg spoke to the media for the first time and gave a glowing review of joining the Rangers.
He was drafted in 2013 by the Columbus Blue Jackets, in the first round, 14th pick overall.
Throughout his career he has played for three teams including the Blue Jackets, Florida Panthers, and the Seattle Kraken.
Though he has been mired by injuries over his years, he will give the Rangers a steady hand at centre and helped fill the hole in the third line that they needed.
He has played 693 games, scored 90 goals with 240 assists for 330 points.
The deadline is still on until 3:00 PM on Friday and will need to see if GM Chris Drury can make another trade or two to help the Rangers solidify their lineup.
