Troubling news surfaces moments before the Rangers vs Lightning game as defenseman will be sidelined
The New York Rangers have just received some very unfortunate news as their defenseman will be sidelined for tonight's game, the Rangers last game of the 2024-25 season.
As the New York Rangers hit the ice for their warmups, one of their defenseman was not seen on the ice for their last game of the season.
That player being New York Rangers veteran 30-year old defenseman,
Carson Soucy.
This news was first reported by several Rangers reporter, who stated that Soucy will be out of the lineup due to illness, and then later confirmed by the New York Rangers themselves.
UPDATE: Carson Soucy (illness) will not play tonight.
News like this is never fun, considering this is the New York Rangers final game of the 2024-25 season, as they failed to make playoff this season after being eliminated by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Soucy hasn't played many games with the New York Rangers since he acquired in a trade from the Vancouver Canucks back in March 6th, the day before the NHL Trade deadline.
Traded to NY Rangers by Vancouver for a 3rd-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, March 6, 2025.
Since joining the Rangers, Soucy has only played in 16 games, where he only managed to tally 1 goal and 2 assist for a total of 3 points during that time, along with averaging 16:14 minutes of ice time.
