Following the New York Rangers training camp on Friday, Mike Sullivan meet with the media and confirmed the roles of the organizations newest coaching staff.

Earlier this offseason the New York Rangers made massive changes to their coaching staff as they started by firing former head coach Peter Laviolette and then slowly replaced other positions such as the assistant coach after Dan Muse decided to leave and join the Pittsburgh Penguins as a head coach.
The Rangers didn't seem to mind too much as they managed to hire three assistant coaches, former Rangers head coach David Quinn who spent lots of time in Pittsburgh with Sullivan, former Boston Bruins interim head coach Joe Sacco, and another former Penguins coach Ty Hennes. All coaches who share the same goal.
However, after they were hired fans and many alike wondered what roles they would play for the team, and now thanks to Mike Sullivan we finally have an answer to that.

Mike Sullivan Confirms The Three Assistant Coaches Role With The Organization

During Mike Sullivan's latest interview he finally confirmed what roles David Quinn, Joe Sacco, and Ty Hennes will serve with the Rangers this upcoming season.
Sullivan confirms that David Quinn will run the power play and work with the defensemen. Joe Sacco will take forwards and PK. Ty Hennes will handle a lot of skill and development work, as well as stat and video analysis

Certainly some good news as David Quinn was responsible for the Pittsburgh Penguins successful power-play, which ranked 5th in the NHL last season, with a 25.8% percentage in the NHL. Something the New York Rangers clearly lacked during the 2024-25 season, so having him run the teams PP uint this season will hopefully be beneficial.

Sacco and Hennes will bring a ton of experience to the New York Rangers bench this upcoming season as well.
