The New York Rangers Stay Busy As They Sign Another Top Goalie Prospect To A One-Year Deal

New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury is keeping busy today as he has just announced another signing after just recently reaching terms on a one-year contract extension with 23-year old goaltender Dylan Garand.

However, it seems to be a goalie filled day as New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury has just announced another signing of 22-year old goaltender, Talyn Boyko, on a one-year contract extension.
#NYR also announce G Talyn Boyko has signed a one-year extension. Same deal as Garand.
Boyko was originally selected by the Blueshirts in the fourth round, 112th overall, of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
The 22-year old goaltender, played in 33 regular season games with the ECHL's Tulsa Oilers during the 2024-25 season, where he posted a 20-8-5 record and a .913 save percentage. He also appeared in two postseason games with the Oiler.
However, he only made his American Hockey League debut with the Hartford Wolf Pack on December 31st, 2024, where he managed to record a 32-save shutout and even tallied one assist, unfortunately Boyko only appeared in five games with the Wolf Pack and posted a 2-2-0 record, earned a 2.61 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.
The 6-7, 200-pound goaltender has played in 59 games across two seasons in the ECHL for the Oilers and the Cincinnati Cyclones, posting a 33-17-6 record and a 2.98 goals-against average. Prior to the start of his professional career, the Drumheller, Alberta native spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) between the Tri-City Americans and the Kelowna Rockets.

Talyn Boyko Signs Same Deal As Wolf Pack Teammate Dylan Garand

Several reports have confirmed that the two goaltender prospects have signed the same contract extension. However the one difference is that Garand is on a two-way deal and is now the Rangers third string goalie.
