The New York Rangers and the Lindgren brothers have history. Ryan was traded to the Colorado Avalanche last season, and according to his brother, Charlie it left a hole in the lineup. On Sunday night he vowed to win a game for his brother, as he and the Washington Capitals shutout the Rangers.

Charlie Lindgren had a bit of motivation on Sunday against the Rangers, as his Washington Capitals competed against them on home ice.
The Capitals' goalie vowed to get a win for his brother, Ryan, who was traded near the end of the 2025 season to the Avalanche. Ryan wouldn't stick around for long in Colorado; he found a new home in Seattle this offseason.
A trade was a necessity for the Rangers, and for the Lindgren brothers a sticking point, as the brothers held a grudge against the Blueshirts.

Charlie LIndgren Shutsout the Rangers; Ending The Beef For Good

Charlie Lingdren would uncharacteristically lead the Capitals on a spiteful run against the New York Rangers on Sunday night.
He would reach into his bag of tricks and make all 35 saves on 35 shots against him by the New York Rangers.
Leading the Capitals was also an unusual name, in Anthony Beauvillier, a former New York Islanders forward who has appeared again in the Metropolitan Division as a thorn in the Blueshirts' side.
Beauvillier would score the game's only goal in a tight-checking game, with Alex Ovechkin and Declan Chisholm assisting on the goal.
For all intents and purposes, the beef between the Lindgrens and the Rangers has now concluded with Ryan moving on, as is Charlie.
He finished the game with a 1.00 save percentage.
The Rangers need to hold the line better, especially against their own Divisional rivals.
