Peter Laviolette doesn't hold back when expressing his frustration with the Rangers performance
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette and star player Vincent Trocheck issue a few unexpected comments following their loss to the Florida Panthers on Monday night.
The New York Rangers displayed great effort during Monday nights game against the Florida Panthers but ultimately still lost 5-3.
The night started off very rough for the New York Rangers as they gave up two goals in the first six minutes of the game.
Usually when this happens to the New York Rangers they struggle to find a way out of it. However, that didn't happen in Florida as they played some of their best hockey in the last few months.
The Rangers put the pressure on the Panthers and completely took control of the pace of the game, ultimately leading to goals from Filip Chytil and Ryan Lindgren to tie the game at 2-2.
The Rangers were then down by one goal in the third period, but they found a way to even things out as veteran Chris Kreider scored a power play goal.
Unfortunately, some poor defensive zone sequences led to the game winning goal for the Panthers, and then an empty-net goal to seal the deal. Making it a final of 5-3.
Following the game Vincent Trocheck shared his positive opinion on the game:
«I thought we played well, Could've went either way. No moral victories at this point. If we play like that, we'll have a good chance most nights.»
While Peter Laviolette remains frustrated despite a solid performance from his team, considering as the Rangers have now lost four games in a row and his job is on the line.
«We did enough to win the game, we did enough to lose the game. It is frustrating because you feel like you're doing more good than you are bad out there, at the end of the day, it's not showing on the scoreboard. That's the business, it's winning. It's not good enough.»
Hopefully the New York Rangers can continue to play like this in their next game as the face the Boston Bruins on Thursday.
