The 2024-25 season saw the beginning of the New York Rangers' deconstruction in the NHL. We saw lots of moving pieces, including Filip Chytil to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for JT Miller. Needless to say, Chytil and former Blueshirt Dryden Hunt's performance didn't go as planned.

The New York Rangers deconstructed their entire lineup in 2024-25, as we saw core pieces exit. Filip Chytil, Kaapo Kakko, Chris Kreider, Jacob Trouba, and Ryan Lindgren are just some of the names involved here.
While Kakko would find a new home in Seattle quite easily, other former Rangers had a difficult time adjusting.

Filip Chytil & The Vancouver Canucks

Filip Chytil would be traded to the Vancouver Canucks on January 31st, 2025, and would play only 15 games and score 6 points.
He'd suffer a concussion, no thanks to Jason Dickinson of the Chicago Blackhawks, on March 15th.
Typically, a bad omen for Chytil, who has suffered multiple concussions during his career.
"I talked to him today and he said it was different than his last concussion," former Vancouver coach Rick Tocchet previously said to ESPN.com. "The bad days aren't as bad, so that's a positive, so I think we've got to take the positive approach. Plus he's got four, five months to rebuild himself, or who knows? We've just got to take it day by day with this guy right now."

Dryden Hunt

Dryden Hunt would play 76 games of his NHL career with the Rangers, scoring 17 points (6-11). Hunt would play with the Rangers during the 2021-22 season and would push Vitali Kravtsov out of the lineup as a bruising bottom-six forward.
Fast forward to 2024-25, he's found a new home with the Calgary Flames and would only score 3 points in 5 games.
Ever since his knee injury, production and play time have been hard to come by as he only played 31 games in 2023-24.
