New York Rangers veteran set to make 4 Nations Face-Off debut following devastating injury update
During Saturday nights game between Team Canada and Team USA, star forward Matthew Tkachuk appeared to suffer an injury as he would go on to miss several shifts, and according to recent reports it's not looking to good.
Tkachuk was seen talking to head coach John Tortorella after trying to skate during the television timeout, following that conversation Tkachuk remained at the end of the bench and never returned to the ice.
However, according to team USA's head coach Mike Sullivan, Tkachuk may have been attempting to hide the injury as he confirmed that Tkachuk is indeed injured and remains questionable for the remainder of the Face-Off.
Mike Sullivan says it's a lower-body injury for Matthew Tkachuk. He used the term «out» and said he is being evaluated. He said he doesn't have enough info yet to make a determination on his status for Monday. The U.S. has already made it into the final on Thursday.

According to Frank Seravalli Matthew Tkachuk is likely to sit out for Monday's game against Sweden, which would indicate that Rangers veteran Chris Kreider will final make his debut in the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Chris Kreider has been serving as Team USA's 13th forward and has been a healthy scratch for the their first two games, so it will be exciting to see him slot in the lineup and play along with his fellow teammates
