An intriguing trade proposal sees GM Chris Drury send forward Brennan Othmann and defenseman Carson Soucy to the Montreal Canadiens. In return, the Rangers would receive elite goal-scorerPatrik Laine and a draft pick. Would you complete this trade?

The New York Rangers, of course, have holes left in the lineup despite the attempts to plug the leaks in the blueline.
The team could add a top-six talent in former 40-goal scorer from the Montreal Canadiens, Patrik Laine.
Laine found himself in a Habs uniform when the Columbus Blue Jackets traded the forward up north last summer.
The move would give the Rangers' top-six another sniper missing, and with the unknown status of Artemi Panarin's future in New York, he could be an insurance policy.

Patrik Laine Acquired By The Rangers for Brennan Othmann & Carson Soucy

The New York Rangers would have to give up prospect Brennan Othmann and defenseman Carson Soucy in this proposal from Heavy.com
Rangers acquire:

Patrik Laine ($2 million retained)
2026 third-round pick

Canadiens acquire:

Brennan Othmann
Carson Soucy

Given how deep the Rangers' forward group is, it might work out in Othmann's favor, who has struggled to find playing time in New York under Peter Laviolette. And this season could see him competing with Brett Berard and Gabe Perreault for a spot in the lineup.
No promises.
The Rangers would receive Patrik Laine, with a percentage of his contract retained and a third-round pick for the future.
Laine scored a total of 33 points (20-13) in 52 games with the Habs last season, and a fresh start on a dynamite team like the Rangers could be what he needs.
