New York Rangers projected to make a shocking decision with their 43rd overall pick and fans are furious

Prior to the 2025 NHL Draft the New York Rangers made the decision to transfer their 12th overall pick of the first round to the Pittsburgh Penguins to complete the J.T. Miller trade.

This now allows the New York Rangers to sign a big money RFA to an offer sheet and also gives them an asset they can use at the trade deadline if they need to.

Along with that the Rangers will now have a shot at someone like Gavin McKenna, Connor Bedard's cousin and forward of the Medicine Hat Tigers, who is currently setting the WHL on fire with his elite play, with their unprotected pick of the 2026 NHL Draft. Which is considered to be a loaded year.

However, the New York Rangers have the 43rd overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft and many are expected them to make another controversial pick, as one spectator believes the Rangers will select Cameron Schmidt.

The main issue with this selection is that Schmidt is only 5'7" and weighs 157 pounds, but he has proven himself to many as he uses his size to his advantage, being very quick up and down the ice while being able to create scoring changes.
