The New York Rangers have just made a huge decision as President and General Manager Chris Drury announced that the organization has agreed to terms with towering forward Adam Edstrom on a two-year contract extension.
The New York Rangers have just recently announced an unexpected signing of 6-foot-7, 24-year old forward Adam Edstrom. A player who has only managed to tally seven goals and four assist for a total of eleven points in 62 NHL games played over the last two season.

However, Edstrom showed great promise during the 2024-25 season, as he posted a career high of five goals and four assist in 51 games played, while ranking third on the New York Rangers in hits with 94, before he suffered a season ending injury on February 1st, and missed a total of 31 games as the injury needed surgery.
Edstrom's 94 hits were the fourth-most among NHL rookies in 2024-25 season at the time of his injury. Prior to the start of the regular season, Edstrom was named the winner of the Lars-Erik Sjoberg Award, which is given annually to the top Rangers rookie in training camp as selected by the media.

According to several reports, Adam Edstrom has secured the same contract as Matt Rempe, a two-year deal worth $1.95M ($975K AAV).
