Chris Drury is busy, according to reports from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman. According to Friedman, it appears that GM Chris Drury is working all scenarios in order to find a way to trade up and acquire Boston College forward James Hagens for the New York Rangers.

With news that the New York Rangers could end up giving up their 1st-round pick, this year or next, GM Chris Drury has a decision to make.
Send the 12th overall in 2025 to Pittsburgh, or the 1st-round unprotected pick in 2026 next year. Though we've suspected they might send their 12th overall pick to their divisional rivals, the Penguins, as a result of the JT Miller trade, there's another route.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman believes that the Rangers could trade up.
«I wonder if the Rangers try to move up,» Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said. «That's another one I'm kind of wondering there.»
«I really think this one (draft) has a chance to be crazy,» Friedman said. «I think there are some teams that could really set tones There are some teams here that could really set the draft on its ears.»

The Rangers could trade up to third if they can convince GM Kyle Davidson of the Chicago Blackhawks with a worthy package.
The Blackhawks pipeline is chock-full of some of the best prospects in the league, and could afford to move a 1st-round pick, especially if they don't find the talent they want.
As it stands now, Tankathon has James Hages dropping to 5th for the Nashville Predators to pick.
So, it appears he has a choice: find a way to trade up to 3rd or 5th, depending on what kind of value he has to offer, or sending the pick to the Penguins entirely and Kyle Dubas can irrationally spend at his own discretion.
