Trade rumors are swirling around the New York Rangers organization and a new trade proposal emerged explaining the Rangers sending Chris Kreider to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Ryan O'Reilly.

This proposed deal would be a one for one deal and would put Nashville on the list for new names who would be interested in Kreider as their season was certainly disappointing.

O'Reilly would give the Rangers a new look and add a shutdown role

O'Reilly is well known as a shutdown centre and would likely be on the Rangers third line who currently has two years left on his contract.
His name has been swirling in rumors for the past several months as the Nashville Predators season was a complete disappointment after loading their team with several prominent stars including Steven Stamkos, O'Reilly and Jonathan Marchessault.
Krieder Has been rumored to be shipped out of New York during the summer as the Rangers are looking for a different look to their team especially on their forward lines.
Adding Kreider To Nashville would give them another scoring option who could play alongside Stamkos and holds two years remaining on his deal which both teams could absorb the contracts.

Kreider has no desire to leave the Rangers despite the rumors

Kreider has made it clear over the past couple of weeks especially during locker clean out day and exit meetings that he wishes to remain with the Rangers for the foreseeable future.
«This is home for me,» Kreider said at the end of the season. «This is the organization that gave me an opportunity to live out my dream.

I've developed so many incredible relationships and grown up and spent so much time in this area. So, obviously, this is where I want to be. This is the group that I want to help in whatever fashion win hockey games.» - Chris Kreider

Kreider's cap hit is $6.5 million per season for the next two years and he also has a 15 team no trade list which could cause problems for the Rangers especially if Nashville is on that list.
Change is in the air for the Rangers and general manager Chris Drury as he has now signed his new contract and now has the runway to make the changes to the lineup which could include Kreider leaving the Big Apple this summer.
