Major development surfaces regarding New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad stepping away from the the organization this offseason, as he's set to represent Team Sweden at the IIHF Mens World Championship.

Just last month on April 24th, it was confirmed that New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad will be stepping away from the organization to represent Team Sweden at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship.
Mika Zibanejad announced he will play for Sweden at World Championships this summer. The tournament is in Stockholm.
Even Mika Zibanejad announced on his Instagram account that he will play for Team Sweden at the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship.
Zibanejad has been hinting at participating in this tournament since the end of the New York Rangers season, and now it's finally official.
Obviously this comes just a few months after Zibanejad represent Team Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off, as he recently opened up about how much he loves to represent his country:
«Any time you're going to represent your country, it's going to be different,» Zibanejad said during the 4 Nations Face-Off. «I don't think you can compare that to anything. To play with the best players out of Sweden and the best players out of those countries, it's awesome.»

The 32-year-old forward is from Huddinge Municipality, Sweden, and spent most of his younger career playing in his home country before joining the National Hockey League.

Team Sweden's official roster has been announced



Just recently Team Sweden's official roster was announced, and it confirms that Mika Zibanejad will in fact be joining Team Sweden.

The team will look similar to the one Sweden brought to the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. Filip Forsberg, Lucas Raymond, and Mika Zibanejad will reprise their roles as Sweden's top forwards, while Rasmus Andersson and Jonas Brodin will lead the defensive core.
