Laviolette Explains Why Matt Rempe Hardly Played Game 2
The Rangers have won six straight games to start these playoffs, the first time they've accomplished that feat since their 1994 Stanley Cup championship run, with the 4-3 double overtime victory in Game 2 over the Carolina Hurricanes by far the hardest to come by. One player that was missing in action for almost the entirety of the game, was fan favorite, Matt Rempe.
Head coach Peter Laviolette explains why Rempe played just 4:03 in Tuesday's night game and how he views time on ice in the playoffs:
Doubters of Rempe will no doubt have this as a tool in their belt. The simple fact is, the Rangers are 20-2-1 with him in the lineup. Clearly he is giving some level of impact to the team that cannot be fully explained. His physical presence and edge on the team might be a good enough explanation.
Rangers are looking to go 3-0, and their seventh straight playoff win tomorrow night in Carolina.
