Ex-Rangers Head Coach Expresses His True Feelings On Landing In St.Petersburg To Join The Shanghai Dragons

Former New York Rangers head coach has just landed in St. Petersburg to sever as the Shanghai Dragons head coach of the Kontinental Hockey League, and has just revealed his true thoughts in a interview.

Earlier this month, former New York Rangers head coach Gerard Gallant and Jack Adams Trophy winner has just officially landed in St.Petersburg and was meet with the media straight away, where he expressed his excitement to start this journey of his career.
Without any hesitation Gallant revealed that he was excited to get to work with the Shanghai Dragons and meet all the new players.
"We had a long flight today and yesterday," said Gallant. "Very excited to get started on the ice tomorrow with our new players... definitely very exciting."

Despite Gallant having to jump into things pretty quickly as the Dragons will have their first game in about two weeks, he openly admitted that he will be taking things slow and day-by-day as he takes on this massive change in his life.
"It's all new and we are gonna take it one day at a time," admitted Gallant. "We get ready for the first game on September 6th... so it's exciting. "We'll see one game at a time, I'm not putting any expectations on our team right now," said Gallant.

Along with this, the 61-year old coach, says he intends to get to know him players a bit better, and give them a chance to know him and his style of coaching. However, he will see some familiar faces as former Rangers forward Ryan Spooner has signed with the Dragons.
"We'll just introduce each other, get used to other, we have two weeks to get ready for September 6th."

"It's all new to me with the KHL, with the Shanghai Dragons, and I'm excited and looking forward to it," said Gallant with a smile. "I know our fans are going to be great to our team."

Gallant genuinely seems enthused about such a big new challenge in his life, and expressed those feelings with a big and genuine looking smile on his face.
