Ex-Rangers' forward reportedly requesting a trade from the Red Wings after a troubling season

According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, former Rangers forward Vladimir Tarasenko is looking for a way out of Hockeytown.
The once-famed organization, which last won a Stanley Cup in the early 2000s, is no longer a desirable destination. After missing the playoffs in Detroit, two-time Stanley Cup champion Vladimir Tarasenko wants out.
Frank Seravalli goes into detail with his disappointment in Detroit:
There was word that Tarasenko wasn't thrilled with his arrangement in Detroit, leaving open the possibility that he's on the move this summer for a better fit.
No truer words are spoken. Vladimir Tarasenko has proven himself to be a viable playoff performer and won another Stanley Cup last season with
the Panthers.
He only produced a total of 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) in 80 games this year and wasn't the 50+ point player we've seen in Florida and New York.
Tarasenko could be shipped to a contender for a meager return of assets due to the lack of production we've seen this season. It's better than nothing really.
But any smart GM will know that he's more than just a player who is satisfied with regular-season play and is a competitor.
