The issues continuing to swirl around the Vancouver Canucks and JT Miller appear not to be going away anytime soon as he is currently in the doghouse with his head coach Rick Tocchet.
Miller's season has been one of the most turbulent in his career as he has struggled on and off the ice including a leave of absence, a feud between himself and Canucks star
Elias Pettersson and the constant trade rumors that have put him back with the New York Rangers.
JT Miller clearly struggling with his game says Tocchet
Tocchet addressed the media and shed some light on what's been happening with Miller and his current struggles.
«Yeah, he's struggling,» Tocchet said. «He's caught in between. You know, it seems like every time he's on the ice, something bad happens. I think he's got some bad luck, but he's also got some reads that he's got to look at himself right now and focus on some of these reads. I think he's trying. I think the focus level has to get a little higher.»
The 31-year-old center has seen a production drop in his goals and points overall as he has not factored within the last five games where he has no points and is a - 5.
He was selected by the Rangers in 2011, in the first-round 15th overall and throughout his career he has played for the Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Vancouver Canucks.
Miller to New York Rangers do not seem to be stopping
Rangers general manager Chris Drury had made headlines over the past couple of months as he wanted to remake his team after the Rangers had gone through one of the worst losing streaks in franchise history.
With the issues surrounding the Canucks, the rumors swirling around JT Miller returning to the Big Apple became loud and clear but to this day, there's no indication that a trade is imminent and remains to be seen as he is entered his second year of a seven year deal which would require a major player to come off the Rangers roster.
Some have indicated that Rangers star forward
Mika Zibanejad could head to Vancouver, but it remains to be seen on whether anything will happen or the Canucks will remain as is as they attempt to try to secure a playoff spot.
In the meantime, the New York Rangers will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets and they come to Madison Square Garden at 7:00 PM eastern on January 18th.
