The Shoulder Check Showcase was a star-studded event featuring multiple New York Rangers, including former star Chris Kreider. While he'll reside on the West Coast this season, he was able to say goodbye to his fans in Stamford, CT, while giving us insight on his mindset for the future.

The New York Rangers fandom was well represented at this week's Should Check Showcast in Stamford, CT. The event was put together by the parents of Hayden Thorsen to advocate for mental health awareness within the sport.
Former Ranger Chris Kreider was in attendance, and he was asked about the trade that sent him to Anaheim and how he feels about the future.
"There's a ton of energy in the organization," Kreider said. "There's a really good energy and guys are very optimistic."

The deal would see the Rangers get Carey Terrance and a 20-25 3rd-round pick in return for him.
Kreider believes he's finally come to terms with the trade, only a year after winning the Presidents' Trophy in 2023-24.
The dismal 36-39-7 record, good enough for 5th place, would trigger a restructuring that is ongoing to this day.
Kreider would score 30 points (22-8) and 22 goals, a steep decline from what we've seen from him in the last few seasons, and the lowest since the 2017-18 season. He'd suffer multiple injuries this season and undergo surgery for his hand, which would require metal rods to repair.
Cutter Gauthier feels like the addition of Kreider will be positive for the Ducks, who are viewed as fringe candidates for a playoff spot.
"Anytime you get a big player like that, it's obviously going to help your lineup," Ducks forward Cutter Gauthier said, viewing Kreider as another mentor in his second season. "We're fortunate that we were able to get him with how well he's done over these handful of years with New York. Really looking forward to learning from him and playing with him as well."

Kreider will be able to suit up for Joel Quenneville, who is a three-time Stanley Cup-winning coach in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks.
He will bring his power-play wizardry in the front of the net, in addition to his grit, and will suiting up for another time for the first-time in his NHL career.
