An NHL analyst has just revealed 22-year old Mason McTavish's strong contract demands for his next deal. Something that just might have confirmed New York Rangers GM Chris Drury's final decision.

Over the last week reports have surfaced that suggest the New York Rangers were in deep conversation with the Anaheim Ducks regarding 22-year old RFA Mason McTavish, and that both sides are in fact discussion the idea of a trade.
Sounds like there is some truth to #NYR checking in on Anaheim #Ducks RFA Mason McTavish. Both sides have only held preliminary talks, but the longer this goes on, the better id say the odds are something happens.
However, it was also reported that the Rangers are not the only team interested in acquiring the 22-year old forward, as unfortunately, new reports have surfaced from Jimmy Murphy with RG Media, that the three teams that are officially linked to McTavish doesn't include the New York Rangers.
The three teams are the Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Mason McTavish's Strong Contract Demands Have Just Been Exposed

McTavish, who is a former third overall pick in 2021 NHL Draft, has developed into a powerful two-way center, as this last season he posted 52 points (22 goals, 30 assists) in 79 games.
Truly some impressive numbers, something he apparently knows as during a recent episode of the Empty Netters Podcast, they revealed that McTavish is looking for an AVV over $7 million.
Despite McTavish being the perfect player for the New York Rangers, it will take a massive trade for them to pull this off as they don't have enough cap space to make this work. As reported on PuckPedia the Rangers only have a projected cap of $777,000.
