Bowen Byram issues a shocking statement that confirms his fate with the New York Rangers

Buffalo Sabres star defenseman Bowen Byram has confirmed his fate with the New York Rangers organization following his latest comments regarding his time with the Sabres.
Ever since the offseason there has been a ton of rumors swirling around the New York Rangers organization being interested in Byram, but that chance has now diminished following the signing announcement of the 24-year old defenseman.
After a productive season in 2024-25 with the bottom-dwelling Buffalo Sabres, Byram quickly surfaced as one of the best defenseman available outside of free agency.
With the Sabres at a current roadblock and showing it by trading away trading away forward JJ Peterka coming hot off a 68-point season, many don't understand what they're up to.
Byram officially confirms his fate with the New York Rangers
Byram has recently opened up on his time with Buffalo in the midst of rumors that he wanted a change of scenery, and who could blame him?
But it appears it was all false smoke in the air after all, have a look:
«Personally, I've been pretty happy with my time in Buffalo,» he said, via Sabres reporter Justin Alpert. «I think I've mentioned it before that I've got an opportunity to play a bigger role and play more minutes, whether it's the offensive side, power play, penalty kill. So, I'm happy with that.
«Just [trying] to continue to grow no matter who I'm playing with or what kind of situations I'm put into. I think, as a player, I have a lot more to give, and I'm looking forward to having that opportunity to do so.»

While Byram's locked in for another two-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres that holds a $6.25M AAV, he still remains a suitor for the New York Rangers, and ultimately a solidified upgrade from K'Andre Miller, who was traded away by general manager Chris Drury during NHL free agency.
