Some troubling news surfaced after Team USA faced off against Team Canada on Saturday night, and it was clear that Matthew Tkachuk was battling an injury.

Matthew Tkachuk only played a couple of shifts for Team USA when facing Team Canada, and missed over 12 minutes in the third period.
Following the game it was revealed that Tkachuk was battling a lower-body injury and would more than likely miss their game on Monday against Finland.
Sounds likely that Matthew Tkachuk will sit out Monday night's game against Sweden 🇸🇪 to heal up for Team USA's championship game on Thursday.

We'll hear from Mike Sullivan this afternoon.

Tkachuk missed final 12:36 of Canada clash and left Bell Centre with noticeable limp.
Luckily for Team USA, after beating Canada they punched their ticket to the finals that is set to take place on Thursday at TD Garden, so it's not the biggest loss for them, but hopefully Tkachuk can return to the lineup for that game.

A big announcement was just confirmed regarding Chris Kreider

Chris Kreider was brought to the Four Nations tournament by Team USA as the 13th forward, but it was just confirmed that he will fill in for Matthew Tkachuk today when USA faces off against Sweden.
Team USA head coach Mike Sullivan also confirmed that Charlie McAvoy will not play today, and instead Jake Sanderson will draw into the lineup tonight as well.
