Frank Seravalli reports a major buyout could take place immediately
NHL insider reveals that a major buyout could happen at any give moment following recent report.
The recent report suggests that the Los Angeles Kings might be looking to buyout Pierre-Luc Dubois.
We see buyout happen all the time throughout the NHL, however the L.A. Kings and Pierre-Luc Dubois have a more complex situation as he just signed a 8-year, $8.5 million deal with the Kings during a sign and trade that happen last year.
Many would say Dubois had a very disappointing season with the Kings, and they're right. As he only managed to tally 40 points after signing a huge contract with the team, and has now put Kings GM Rob Blake in a tough situation.
Frank Seravalli of the Daily faceoff has reported that even though Blake stated that he's unlikely to buyout Dubois, he still believes he might have changed his mind and a buyout could definitely happen very soon.
Rob Blake confirms there is no interest in a buy-out for Pierre-Luc Dubois.
The buyout window will open up 48 hours after the Stanley Cup Finals are over or June 15th. The L.A. Kings are faced with a tough decision as they need to make a decision before he turns 26 on June 24th or else they will have to owe him two-thirds of his contract instead of a third.
