Tragedy Strikes As Former Junior Hockey Goaltender Passes Away Too Young At The Age Of 25

The hockey world is mourning the loss of a Quebec-born goalie, who has played in one of Ontario's best leagues, who has tragically passed away at the young age of 25.
2025 has been a rough year for the hockey community as we've seen players like Tomas Kloucek and Head Coach Andrei Martemyanov pass away.
Now, instead of getting a break from the recent tragedies in the news, we report the loss of former OJHL and CCHL goalie
Antoine Bordeau.
According to reports, last Sunday, former Markham Royals goalie Antoine Bourdeau passed away. Bordeau played for the club during the 2019-2020 season.
He'd pass away in Quebec at the age of 25, way too young.
Afterward, tributes from the Ontario Hockey Academy, CCHL, and OJHL would be made in his honor.
"The Royals organization is saddened to hear of the passing of alumni goaltender Antoine Bourdeau.
Antoine played for Markham in the 2019/20 season and was a beloved member of the organization in his time here. Our thoughts and condolences are with his loved ones in this time." the Markham Royals said on X.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our alumni, Antoine Bourdeau (2016-2018)
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered as a valued member of the OHA family.
Rest in Peace Antoine" the Ontario Hockey Academy said on Instagram.
The Central Canadian Hockey League:
"The Central Canada Hockey League would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of former @brockbraves goaltender Antoine Bourdeau during this very difficult time." the CCHL said in a social media post.
