Former New York Rangers Captain Jacob Trouba suffers brutal injury after Igor Shesterkin takes him out
It was a bad night for former New York Rangers Captain Jacob Trouba. He'd fall while skating behind Igor Shesterkin's net, and collide with the boards, leaving the game in the third period.
After clearing the puck from the crease, Igor Shesterkin could be to blame for
Jacob Trouba's injury last night.
You can see in the video below that Jacob Trouba was attempting to regain possession of the puck. After Shesterkin uses his stick to clear the crease, his skate and Shesty's stick met, and would cause Trouba to trip and collide into the boards unintentionally.
The injury looked painful, as his left leg was the first to hit the boards, and his right knee would soon follow after.
The undisclosed injury, which we assume will be classified as a lower-body injury, caused him to leave the game in the third period.
To which the Ducks didn't seem to take kindly to losing one of their players last night and would rally to defeat the Rangers, 5-4.
Trouba would contribute defensively last night, playing 15:50 TOI, with four hits and four blocked shots for the Ducks.
Trouba's absence could result in the Ducks calling in defenseman
Oliver Kylington to fill the void in the meantime.
This was the first time the former Rangers Captain has seen his old squad on the ice since December 6th, 2024 when he was sent to the West Coast.
While this wasn't a revenge game for him, his team decided to score by committee and overwhelm the Rangers and Igor Shesterkin.
We wish Trouba and speedy recovery from his injuries he suffered last night.
