NHL Commissioner, Gary Bettman under fire as another player sadly passes away from CTE.
According to recent report from TSN, the death of Greg Johnson, a 14-year NHL veteran, was linked to CTE.
Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a brain disease that occurs after getting hit in the head too many times, and unfortunately Johnson got that specifically from playing hockey.
Allan Walsh, an NHL agent, blamed NHL commissioner Gary Bettman for his death, saying that he failed to caution everything.
A message directly to Gary Bettman - there is NHL player blood on your hands. #EndCTE
Johnson's daughter is taking this moment to teach all athletes, not just in the NHL, and people, about CTE.
Hopefully this starts something to move dirty hits and headshots out of the game of hockey, because it has no place in the game.
