Former Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo reaches out to season ticket holders
It's been a turbulent last few week for the Arizona Coyotes and former owner Alex Meruelo as he along with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman Ann Ryan Smith of the Utah Jazz chose to craft a deal to see the coyotes operations be purchased and transferred to Salt Lake City.
Meruelo and his management reached out to season ticket holders by e-mail and explained how they are sorry and how they are to get a refund.
This hybrid relocation of the Coyotes has taken many by surprise at the sheer speed of how this was done and that it's up to Meruelo himself to land the next Arizona Coyotes franchise which will be an expansion team.
He will need to win his auction that will be held on June 27th where he will attempt to land a plot of land to help him build a state-of-the-art arena which is part of the contingent of his deal in order to retain the rights to the Arizona Coyotes TM and merchandise for five years.
It's been a tough moment for fans as many felt that they were hoodwinked and lied to in terms of keeping the team in Arizona by winning that land deal. It's going to be a difficult time for Meruelo and his staff as many people feel that he should not be the owner to bring back the new Arizona Coyotes as the trust has been broken.
There's also heavy skepticism on whether he can make this deal happen within the time frame he was given but the NHL commissioner feels Meruelo can get the job done.
