Mollie Walker feels Peter Laviolette took Rangers to next level
With the best Rangers season behind them, the team is preparing for their first-round matchup against the Washington capitals and Mollie Walker along with Brian Boyle and Larry Brooks spoke about the team in the Up in The Blue Seats Podcast. Walker feels that Peter Laviolette was the secret ingredient to changing the Rangers into a far more playoff ready team.
The Rangers were hoping for a change of pace as the team was embarrassed last year after losing in the first round to their bitter rivals the Devils. The Rangers appeared to be ready to embrace this change and over the course of the year continued to become a playoff ready team especially in the second-half and down the stretch.
The team suffered a few stumbles along the way especially in December and January but with those issues behind them it appears they are ready to go. The Rangers have a no quit mentality this year and with all their comeback wins and improved play, there's a high expectation that great results will follow.
Game one of round one will be held on Sunday April 21st at Madison Square Garden at 3:00 PM eastern.
