What You Need To Know About Jaroslav Chmelar: The New York Rangers Latest Roster Transaction

Earlier on Sunday evening, the New York Rangers decided to make a two player roster transaction, as they are getting ready to return to Madison Square Garden from their four-game road trip.
On of the move was to send former 1st-round draft pick Brennan Othmann back to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, something many fans expected due to his performance during his game against the Calgary Flames.
Then the other roster made by the Rangers and GM Chris Drury was to recall Othmann's replacement, as they decided to recall 6-foot-4 forward Jaroslav Chmelar from the Wolf Pack.
UPDATE: Jaroslav Chmelar has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack and Brennan Othmann has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack.
However, since the Rangers announced this move, many fans have been asking who this player is.
Who Is Jaroslav Chmelar? The Latest Player Recalled By The New York Rangers
Jaroslav Chmelar is a 22 year old winger who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 226 pounds, according to his NHL Player page. However, The Rangers drafted Chmelar during the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft with the 144th overall pick.
With that being said, the 22-year old has just started his third season in Hartford, and is off to a solid start as he has managed to tally two goals and added three assists for five points in just nine games played.
Last season Chmelar appeared in 71 games for Hartford, and he tallied 12 goals and added 17 helpers for 29 points. Chmelar played at Providence College, and he posted a line of 12-16-28 in 59 games across two seasons.
At this moment it still remains unknown if Chmelar will appear in games for the Rangers, and that the real reason behind the call-up is that he will be an easy player to send down to the Wolf Pack, if and when Vincent Trocheck rejoins the team.
