Per TSN Insider Trading, Patrik Laine wants a fresh start on a different team. Both #CBJ and he will try to work a trade out.
With Patrik Lanie looking for a team, it's safe to say he would want to go to a contending team, and The New York Rangers would be the perfect fit for the former 40 goal scorer.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are reportedly working on a Patrik Laine trade 😳

The former 2nd overall pick has informed #CBJ he would like a fresh start 👀
The New York Rangers are desperately looking for a right winger on the first line beside Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad this season and Laine could be of assistance if he remains healthy. Laine is a multiple time 30-goal scorer and once hit the 40 goal mark which was in his second season with the Winnipeg Jets.
Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic were traded from the Winnipeg Jets to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2020 in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois and a 2022 third-round pick.
Roslovic and Laine have a long history of being on the same team, obviously with Jack Roslovic joining the Rangers at the start of the 2023-24 season, the organization could possibly ignite a reunion by bring Laine to the team.
Laine has dealt with some health issues and injuries over the past couple of seasons, but if he can stay healthy, the New York Rangers should be all in for him as he fits the need the Blueshirts are looking for.
