Växjö Lakers' team building has received another piece of the puzzle. Today they have signed the 23-year-old center Karl Henriksson to play in the club for the next three years ✍️
💬 "It feels inspiring to come to Växjö"
Karl Henriksson was drafted 58th overall in 2019 by the New York Rangers in the 2nd round, with high hopes of him earning a permanent spot on the Rangers roster but unfortunately the offensive side of his game never clicked as he only managed 40 points in 134 AHL career games
Over the last two seasons Henriksson played with the AHL Hartford, during the 2023-24 he had managed 11 goals and 13 assists in 64 games.
Henriksson has a fair amount of experience in the Sweden's top level as he played 94 games throughout 4 seasons with Frolunda before coming to North America.
The New York can still retain Henriksson's NHL rights with a qualifying offer later this month.
