After news broke out that the Florida Panthers trip to Edmonton had been delayed, NHL insider has provided a significant update.

NHL Insider, Emily Kaplan has released a significant update on if and when the Florida Panthers will make it to Edmonton in time for game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Currently the Panthers are leading the series 2-0 over the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals, thanks to an almost unbeatable performance by Sergei Bobrovsky.

"The @FlaPanthers are up 2-0 in the Stanley Cup Final.

Sergei Bobrovsky joins @notthefakeSVP to discuss being two wins away from the Cup 🏆"

Despite their success, the Panthers are now facing a serious challenge coming into game 3 as Emily Kaplan had recent revealed that the Panthers have officially taken off for Edmonton. With that being said the Panthers will have far less rest time before game 3 putting them at a huge disadvantage.

"Hearing the Panthers plane just took off after several delays in South Florida. They won't get into Edmonton until Wednesday night.

Thursday has an early puck drop, 6:20 MT.

The Oilers flew Tuesday and will get two full nights at home ahead of Game 3."

This Stanley Cup finals has been the longest travel distance between the two teams, with the trip being over 2,500 miles. Without a doubt the Florida Panthers will still be working through jet lag by the time they hit the ice.
