The Blueshirts have been struggling to find a linemate for winger Chris Kreider and center Mikka Zbanejad.
However, someone is hitting the market in July that may be the perfect fit for the two of them and will complement their playing styles.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Tyler Bertuzzi will be testing the open market this summer.
Tyler is a gritty forward who loves to be in the thick of things. Bertuzzi is 29 years old and had 21 goals and 22 assists, tallying up to 43 points in 80 games this past season. In the playoffs, he posted four points in seven games.
Bertuzzi will most likely be looking for a long-term contract and more than $5 million per. Tyler made $5 million this year and had a good year, so he'll be asking for more. He has also been moving around a lot recently, so he may be wanting a multi-year contract.
Bertuzzi will be playing hard to get, as he's a UFA and holds all leverage in the negotiations. Plus the fact there's going to be a lot of teams interested in him. New York is just going to have to dish out the best offer.
