Reunion incoming? Former New York Rangers forward reportedly being shopped: Per Elliotte Friedman
Former New York Rangers forward and 15-year NHL veteran reportedly being shopped by current organization and will likely be trade at the March trade deadline.
According to a recent report from NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the
Detroit Red Wings are looking to trade
Vladimir Tarasenko at the NHL trade deadline or after this season is done.
Elliotte Friedman stated the Red Wings are willing to move him as they think a change of scenery would be best for the Russian-goal scoring forward and the Red Wings organization.
This season Tarasenko has managed to tally 7 goals and 15 assists for a total of 22 points in the 53 games with the Red Wings.
The team signed him to provide scoring depth but clearly expectations weren't met, as he is posting below-average numbers.
However, a change of scenery could definitely spark a change for Tarasenko. Perhaps maybe ever return to the New York Rangers organization as the 33-year old forward managed to put up 21 points in just 31 games when he joined the team back in the 2022-23 season.
Teams reportedly interested in former Rangers forward Vladimir Tarasenko
With no surprise the
Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly interested in Tarasenko, making them one of his potential trade destinations moving forward.
As the Leafs currently in the second position in there division and looking to make a deep playoff run this season, they just might seek a veteran forward who has Stanley Cup playoff experience.
The two-time Stanley Cup Champion, won his first back in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues and just recently with the
Florida Panthers in 2024.
So if Chris Drury wants to add some solid depth and playoff experience to the Rangers lineup he better act fast before another organization does.
Do you think the New York Rangers should re-acquire veteran forward Vladimir Tarasenko? Let us know in the poll down below.
