With training camp beginning today, September 10th, the New York Rangers will be icing a roster that includes a mix of talent. We will be able to see defenseman Scott Morrow, forwards Gabe Perreault and Brennan Othmann.
There should be other prospects you observe.
Sykora was originally a 2nd-round draft pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. He's proven himself to be a reliable player in the AHL for the Hartford Wolfpack, where he'd score 8-15-23 in 55 games during his rookie year.
The following season, the 5-foot-11, 192-pound forward would score 9-21-30 in 71 games with the Wolfpack. He's been a willing participant in learning every forward position on the ice. He's expected to take the next step with the Wolfpack. During this training camp, he'll have a chance to show how NHL-ready he is.
Callum Tung is 21, and another goalie prospect the Rangers
have added to the depth of the organization. The 6-foot-3, 198-pound goalie played in 15 games for UConn in the NCAA and would go 10-4-1 with a 2.01 GAA and a .933 save percentage.
He's seen 79 minutes of time on ice in Hartford and will show up to the Rangers training camp as a sought-after commodity in the NHL.
Gonchar was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 5th round of the 2025 NHL Draft. This season,
he'll be playing in the CHL with the Sudbury Wolves. He's added mass during the offseason, weighing in at 6-foot-1, 165 pounds, up 8 pounds from where he was 157 in the summer.
Gonchar's uncle played in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Russian defender will look to continue the legacy his relative built.
The Rangers prospect spent the last two seasons of his career playing for Stalnye Lisy Magnitogorsk in the MHL, which is two leagues below the KHL and VHL.
He's a proven puck-moving defenseman who scored 7-18-25 in 50 games in the MHL this season.
