Rangers Stanley Cup chances are excellent in 2024

The Stanley Cup playoffs are upon the Rangers and the rest of the NHL It's been 30 years since the Rangers won their last one in 1994. Several stat gurus have revealed breakdowns between presidents trophy winning teams and Stanley Cup winning teams. These stats bode well for the Rangers.

Knowing that 87.27% of teams get to the finals who have won the presidents trophy and 75% have won the Stanley Cup is certainly numbers that Rangers fans and the organization should be happy about.

The team has shown great resiliency as they had stumbled and struggled prior to the All Star game in December and January. The team quickly turn things around and produced a great stretch run that helped solidify first overall in the NHL.



Another stat revealed the breakdown between the 2014 and the 2024 editions of the Rangers. It shows both versions have strong stats in goals for, goals per game and it shows the 2023-2024 has a better power play.

Of course, the playoff season is vastly different than the regular season and the Rangers will need to buckle down especially with their struggles of five-on-five scoring. But Rangers will now face off against the Washington Capitals in the first round. With their goal differential as the worst in the NHL playoffs this year, it gives the Rangers a distinct advantage to be able to put the puck in the net.
