The Rangers are ready for their Eastern Conference battle against the Florida Panthers to which Rangers legend mark messier feels that Chris Kreider is a great playoff performer.
"You make your money in the regular season, but you make your name in the playoffs. And Chris Kreider is a playoff performer."
Greg Wyshynski of ESPN sat down with Messier and discussed how he felt about the Rangers and how Chris Kreider is as a playoff player for the Rangers. https://x.com/BruceBeck4NY/status/1792620093668507901
"He looked like he was going 100 mph standing still on the ice. He looked like a Ferrari," Messier said. "You don't realize how big he is until you get up next to him. He's so perfectly proportioned."
The 33-year-old forward has performed well in these playoffs as he had a natural hat trick against the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 6 which won the series. Through ten playoff games, he has scored seven goals with three assists for 10 points. During the regular season he played all 82 games and scored 39 goals with 36 assists for 75 points and was a + 19.
Kreider's production will be vital for the Rangers as they will be facing their toughest opponents thus far in these playoffs. The Panthers are going to create all kinds of havoc for the team as they use their physicality and will and determination to get to the puck in both ends.
Game one will be in Madison Square Gardens and will be on May 22nd. Puck drop will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
