Peter Laviolette issues unexpected statement on Matt Rempe's playoff performance
New York Rangers rookie Matt Rempe has been impressing many with his physicality and fighting but however, during the ECF he's been impressing everyone with his offensive growth.
When Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette was asked about Rempe's offensive progression he gave a positive response.
«I have, I noticed it in practice,» Laviolette said. «I notice it in games. He is still a young player who is working that and building towards that. I think the more he plays, the more experience he gets, the more comfortable he will get with that. When I watch him out here from when I watched him at training camp, there is a big jump, there is a significant jump.»
During game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals the 21-year old rookie arguably played his best game since joining the Rangers, making a bunch of offensive rushes and opportunities.
With Rempe's valuable physical presence and the way he's improving on his offensive ability, he might just see an increase in ice time.
Rempe has played in three out of the four games of New York's third round series against the Florida Panthers and seems to be getting to play tonight for Game 5.
