Earlier today, New York Rangers longtime veteran Chris Kreider has officially waived his clause and signed off on a trade to the Anaheim Ducks.

A team not many fans thought he would agree going to. However, Rangers insider Arthur Staple revealed several reason why Chris Kreider ultimately made that
decision.
NHL Insider Frank Seravalli was the first to report the beginning of this trade on Wednesday night, as the New York Rangers entered "advanced talks" with the Anaheim Ducks regarding Rangers longest-tenured player, Chris Kreider.
Sources say #NYR and #NHLDucks are in advanced discussions on a deal that would send Chris Kreider to Orange County.

No semantics: there is NO DEAL at this moment in time.

But there is interest - and a framework. Both teams had other irons in the fire today. We'll see on Wed.
After days of waiting to see where the trade would go, Chris Kreider made the final decision to sign off on the trade, ending his time in New York.

Full Details on the Chris Kreider trade to the Anaheim Ducks

It appears the New York Rangers will move up 15 spots in the 2025 NHL Draft as the Rangers will receive Carey Terrance and the Maple Leafs 2025 3rd round pick (89th overall), while the Ducks will get Chris Kreider and their original 2025 4th round pick that they gave up when they landed Jacob Trouba. Along with this the New York Rangers will not retain any of Kreiders cap.

Why Chris Kreider choose to be traded to the Anaheim Ducks

Kreider originally had a partial no-trade clause, a modified 15-team no-trade list, and one of those teams were the Anaheim Ducks.
However, the 34-year old has agreed to terms and signed off on the trade, meaning he has waived his clause, due to the fact he will reunite with former New York Rangers teammates such as Jacob Trouba, Ryan Strome, and Frank Vatrano, along with a chance to play for Joel Quenneville seemed to be another big deal.
"Heard that there were several teams talking Kreider with #NYR but Anaheim deal made the most sense to him. Ex-teammates, chance to play for Quenneville, good young group.
