New York Rangers Top Prospect and First-Round Draft Pick Suspended Following Heated Altercation

The play occurred whenever Emery and Zee Buium Decided to fight one another where Emery received two minutes for roughing at a game misconduct.

The 18-year-old defender has had a quiet season as he continues to develop his craft and improve his defensive game. Not known for his offensive abilities, through 29 games with the University of North Dakota he only has one assist but 34 penalty minutes and is a + 4 through 29 games.

Standing at six foot three and 185 lbs at 18 years old, Emery was selected by the Rangers in 2024, first round 30th overall.

Emery is one of several Rangers prospects that continues to grow and develop as the team looks to add younger players overtime since the Rangers have been a competitive NHL squad for the last number of years.

The Rangers are awaiting the finale of the Four Nations face off and have begun restarting their season as they along with the rest of the NHL prepare to resume their games and schedule on Saturday.

The organization is also preparing for the NHL trade deadline which will be a unique situation for the Rangers considering where they sit in the standings.

Only being three points out of a wild card, it's likely that general manager Chris jury will resume being an active general manager and become a buyer at the deadline to make a run for a playoff spot.

The Rangers will be on the road for their first game back against the Buffalo Sabres and it will take place on Saturday February 22nd at 5:30 AM PM Eastern.
