The New York Rangers have recently been linked to top free agent Sam Bennett multiple times throughout the 2024-25 season, and now an unexpected announcement was made revealing where he just may land.
According to a recent reports, there is some belief that the St. Louis Blues have now emerged as a top landing destination to acquire Sam Bennett, if he manages to hit the free agent market.
Sam Bennett has been a crucial member of the Florida Panthers organization, especially during this year's playoffs as he's helped the Panthers battle back from a 2-0 held by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Florida Panthers are known as being the most physical team in the Stanley Cup Playoffs at this moment, and that's thanks to Sam Bennett and his style of play, something that makes him such a sought after player.
The St. Louis Blues emerge as a top landing spot for Sam Bennett
Clearly there will be a ton of team who will be looking to add Bennett to their rosters if he hits the free agent market, but according to NHL analyst Andy Strickland the Blues have now surfaced as a top team to acquire him in the off-season.
The Blues have taken a massive step forward this season, especially after hiring former Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery.
Given how they played towards the end of the season, and making the playoffs it's easy to see why Sam Bennett and other pending free agents would be interested in playing there.
So if GM Chris Drury and the New York Rangers want Sam Bennett they will have to be quick to do so, and of course pay a hefty price.
