New York Rangers reportedly set to combine for massive off-season trade with Divisional rivals
The NHL off-season is here for some teams, and while trades are paused for the teams in the playoffs, the rumors are flowing for others eliminated, especially when it comes to New York Rangers right wing Alexis Lafrenière.
Now that the New York Rangers offseason is officially here, it's likely that we will see a ton of speculation surrounding the teams that are already to make some moves.
The former first-overall pick now has five years of NHL experience, with only just 193 points throughout 380 games, it may be time for the New York Rangers to move on and explore better options.
Lafreniere was signed to a seven-year contract with the New York Rangers
After another disappointing season as Lafreniere only managed to tally 17 goals and 28 assist for a total of 45 points. A change of scenery might be just what Lafrenière requires.
According to some reports
the Pittsburgh Penguins just might be the perfect destination, as they have no issues with developing young talent.
It's unclear what the New York Rangers would receive for a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but they certainly have a ton of draft picks and even young talent if the Rangers decide to do a full re-build.
