New York Rangers organization sign depth forward to unexpected two-year contract extension
Recent reports confirm that the New York Rangers organization has officially agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with an unexpected forward.
Reports have indicated that the New York Rangers organization have agreed to terms with pending UFA forward Anton Blidth, on a two-year contract extension.
Following a breakout year for the 30-year old depth forward, the New York Rangers have decided to keep Blidth around for another two-years, per PuckPedia:

Was a pending UFA after 2 year deal
Anton Blidh, was organized acquired in a one-for-one trade deal with the Colorado Avalanche involving Gustav Rydahl. Providing the Hartford Wolf Pack with a player with a solid depth forward with AHL experience.
Just last season, Blidh played in 64 games and managed to tally 7 goals and 10 assist for a total of 17 points. He even suited up for one game with the New York Rangers but unfortunately failed to produce anything besides a minor penalty.
However, this year Blidh, has cemented himself as a valuable veteran presence in Hartford. While playing 66 games this season, he is currently in the midst of a career high in points, with 17 goals and 13 assist.
The former 6th-round draft pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, has became a great mentor for the younger players in Hartford and plays every game with meaning.
Hopefully if he continues this, then the contact extension will be well worth it as you can never have enough depth on a lineup.
