New York Rangers Captain J.T. Miller Faces Harsh Backlash From Fans After Failing To Take Accountability

The New York Rangers have been off to a rough start of the 2025-26 season, and fans aren't holding back while voicing their opinions on the organization and captain J.T. Miller.
The 32-year old forward returned to the New York Rangers organization last season, after being traded from the Vancouver Canucks after a feud broke out between himself and Elias Pettersson. However, after just spending about a half a season with the Rangers he was named captain ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Unfortunately, things haven't quite gone the way the Rangers were expected as they find themselves with a 3-4-1 early in the season, with all four losses coming from home ice at Madison Square Garden. Resulting in a ton of frustration among fans.
New York Rangers Fans Call Out J.T. Miller For His Lack Of Leadership
Following the New York Rangers latest game on Monday, where they faced off against the Minnesota Wild, captain J.T. Mille issued a post-game comment that many fans don't agree with.
Here's what he said:
"We have to find a way to bear down in those tight 2-1 games when, let's be honest, we didn't deserve to win. But that was a game we could've stolen. It's happened to us so far. Not good enough, we know that. Turn the page and move on to the next one."
Miller who is just trying to stay positive despite all the Rangers struggles this season, but fans on social media aren't quite as optimistic, as they continue to call him out and question his leadership skills.
Certainly looks like fans have an issues with Miller "quitting on his team" before leaving the Vancouver Canucks last season, and are worried that he will do the same to the New York Rangers organization. But to me it's clear that Mille has changed and showed a ton of growth from last season as a leader.
