Troubling news has just surfaced regarding the New York Rangers and their superstar goaltender Igor Shesterkin back on February 8th as he suffered an upper-body injury.

Igor Shesterkin is apparently out 1-2 weeks with an upper body injury. Good timing for him and the team. He was on IR with an upper body injury in December, remember.
Many believe Shesterkin suffered this injury during Friday nights game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after forward Philip Tomasino was battling for a puck in front of the net and got into Igor's blocker, but it was actually due to taking a puck to inside on his blocker and not the stick.

However, Igor Shestekrin has as a bit of break considering the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament has been going on for nearly two weeks. But today the New York Rangers hit the ice for their first practice since the break and an unfortunate update was released on Shesterkin.
According to reports, Shesterkin still isn't fully healed from his injury and didn't join the team for practice, but he has skated on his own.

There is still time for Shesterkin to heal up as the New York Rangers only play on Saturday the 22nd against the Buffalo Sabres at 5:30PM.
