Martin St. Louis said he spoke to Steven Stamkos about leaving Tampa Bay following Stamkos signing in Nashville.
"He's going to look back on his career and I think he's going to be happy that he experienced something else."
Roughly about 10 years ago, St. Louis was relatively in the same situation has he was traded from the Lighting to the New York Rangers, however he requested the trade as Stamkos did not, because he wanted to remain in Tampa.
