Former Rangers forward offers special gift for legendary broadcaster Sam Rosen during final game in Columbus

Former New York Rangers forward Rick Nash, made sure to pay his respects to Rangers legendary play-by-play broadcaster Sam Rosen, as Saturday night was his last game in Columbus.

The retired forward gifted the legendary broadcaster a signed jersey before he called his final game between to then New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Saturday night.
Rick Nash is currently the Blue Jackets Director of Hockey Operations, after being promoted by the organization back on September 20th of 2024. However, Nash played six seasons with the New York Rangers after being traded back in 2012 by Blue Jackets, where he spent his first nine seasons in the NHL.
Nash and Sam Rosen posed for a picture and ended up exchanging some kind words towards each other in the press box.
«To Sam: Congratulations on a great career! It was an honor to have you call my games!» Nash wrote on his No. 61 Blue Jackets jersey.

#CBJ legend and former Ranger Rick Nash presented legendary MSG broadcaster Sam Rosen with a signed jersey tonight prior to his calling his final game in Columbus. Thanks for many years of great calls, Sam, and congrats on your retirement.
After being gifted the jersey, Sam Rosen thanked Nash for his years in New York, along with thanking all the fans at the Nationwide Arena.
«That will be framed and going in a special place,» the play-by-play announcer said as he held up the jersey.
In August, Rosen announced his retirement after a 40-year career in the broadcast booth.
In August, Sam Rosen official announced his retirement, as this season will be his last. After a 40-year career in the broadcast booth, we truly hope the New York Rangers will make this a year remember.
